Karen Goulding - Principal Viola

A freelance violist in the Los Angeles area, Karen plays with the Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra, Santa Barbara Opera and for various chamber music recitals throughout the region. She has also played with the New West Symphony, PAsadena Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and was Principal Violist for the Tuscon Symphony Orchestra from 1991-1996.

 

She received her musical education from Eastman School of Music, Rice University's Shepherd School of Music and California State Northridge where she studied with Heidi Castleman, Wayne Crouse and Pamela Goldsmith. She also studied with members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra at the Tanglewood Summer Festival in Massachusetts, and treasures the memory of being able to play in a master class for the great violist William Primrose. She enjoys making her home wiht her family and pets in beautiful Hollywood Beach, Oxnard.
